Research Overview
Research Overview
While capital is widely viewed as essential to entrepreneurial advancement, obtaining it can be complex. This research will examine the legal, institutional, and structural factors affecting capital access in Central Arkansas. By combining survey and interview data, the project looks at common real world barriers that influence the financing experience. The goal is to contribute to the improvement of capital access and give practical support for entrepreneurs.
Project Outcomes
Project Outcomes
The project will result in both a formal academic thesis and a practical financing guide designed to support entrepreneurs. All of these materials will be included on this site once completed, as well as an updated hub with links to various entrepreneurial resources.
Preliminary findings were presented at Harding Undergraduate Research Conference (HURC) in April. Final findings will be presented at the Global Business Research Symposium in Riverside, California in October.

This project is funded by the Arkansas Department of Education's SURF grant program and has received Institutional Review Board (IRB) approval through Harding University.

Hi, my name is Lillian Reynolds. I'm a student at Harding University majoring in Interdisciplinary Studies with concentrations in Business, Communication, and English, and minoring in Entrepreneurship. The completion of this thesis will fulfill a requirement for my anticipated Graduation with Distinction from the Honors College in Fall 2026.
Professional Interests
Professional Interests
Through judicial, law firm, and small business internships, as well as involvement in entrepreneurship focused organizations, I have developed hands on experience within both legal and business settings.
I hope to use this experience in a legal counsel career, guiding small businesses through legal, strategic, and communication challenges during the startup and growth stages. After gaining experience, I hope to eventually open an entreprenuer resource hub, which would include various services for entrepreneurs at different stages of business development.
